Who we are

Our role

For the project, field, client, and file data your firm puts in the app, we act as a processor: your firm decides what to store and why, and we process it to run the product on your instructions.

For account information, billing-contact details, waitlist signups, and marketing-site data we collect ourselves, we act as a controller: we decide how that information is used to operate Survey Forward.

South Carolina does not currently have a comprehensive consumer privacy statute like California's. We still publish this notice, and we honor the access, correction, deletion, and export requests described below.

What we collect

• Account — name, work email, hashed password, and workspace membership.
• Workspace content — projects, clients, contacts, schedules, files, and other records your firm uploads or creates.
• Usage and logs — product analytics, error reports, and technical logs needed to operate and debug the Service.
• Support — emails and messages you send to us, including attachments you choose to share.
• Waitlist and marketing site — email and any optional name, firm, or role you submit before an account exists.

What we do not do

• We do not sell personal information.
• We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not run targeted ads or ad pixels.
• We do not train foundation models or other AI models on customer content.
• We do not give support staff standing access to customer workspaces. Support may access a tenant only when you ask us to.

Where data lives

The Service is operated from the United States. The app is hosted on Vercel. Workspace data is stored in Supabase-hosted Postgres in us-east-1. Traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS). Supabase encrypts data at rest with AES-256. Details are on our Security page.

How we share information

We share data with the vendors listed on Subprocessors so they can host the app, store data, send email, show maps, look up parcels, and capture errors. We do not sell data to them.

We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the Service, our customers, or a person from harm. If we receive a law-enforcement request for Customer Data, we will notify the customer unless the law forbids it.

Retention

We keep account and workspace data while the account is active. After you close a workspace or we terminate it, we delete or de-identify Customer Data within 90 days, except for legal holds, disputes, or records we are required to keep. Encrypted backups may retain residual copies until they cycle. Waitlist and support emails are kept as long as needed to respond and to operate the business, then deleted or de-identified.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or export of personal information we hold as a controller, and you may ask your workspace admin — or us, if the admin agrees — to export or delete workspace content. Email hello@surveyforward.com. We may need to verify the request. Workspace admins control user access inside the product.

California residents

If you are a California resident, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to delete it (subject to exceptions), to correct it, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is no sale or share to opt out of. International visitors

The Service is operated from the United States. If you access it from another country, your information will be processed in the United States, which may have different privacy laws than your home jurisdiction. We do not claim GDPR certification or a GDPR-ready program. If you believe GDPR or a similar law applies to a specific relationship, email hello@surveyforward.com and we will discuss it. That invitation is not a claim that we are GDPR compliant.

Children

The Service is for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. We do not claim COPPA certification.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technology that are essential to sign-in, security, and keeping the product working. We also use Vercel Analytics for product usage. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not run ad pixels.

Security and DPA

See Security. A data processing addendum is available on request at hello@surveyforward.com. We do not publish DPA contract text on this site.

What this policy is not

We are not HIPAA certified, PCI certified, or GDPR certified, and we do not claim otherwise. Do not put protected health information or payment-card data in the Service.

Changes

We may update this policy by posting a new version on this page and changing the date above. For a material change, we will try to email account owners.
